Linda Weigel…Blooming in Retirement

The Archives

lindaOur beloved Linda Weigel is enjoying retirement and keeping very busy.  Below is an update she sent in, between her lifelong learning activities and the periodic substitute teaching for La Lumiere…
Since summer I joined a local group of Plein Air painters traveling weekly thru October to various locations in and around Michiana.  We will be having an exhibition of our work some time late in 2013.  Also, I recently participated in an art performance about the creation of visual works symbolizing non-digital books held at the Michigan City Public Library.   In June I traveled to the San Francisco area and visited Yosemite, Sonoma  wineries, and the magnificent Filoli Gardens.  In early November I toured Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello.
Academically, I have just completed a 13 week course through the local Purdue Co-op Extension studying to be certified a Master Gardener.  Additionally, the Southern Shore Artist Association sponsored a series of Saturday classes for special needs students and I participated as one of the instructors hosting several workshops in October and November.
More to come…
